TA Associates Management, L.P. (“TA”) is pleased to invite you to our event. Your privacy is important to TA. As part of this invitation process, TA needs to collect certain Personally Identifiable Information (PII), as defined by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”), about you. This privacy statement explains TA’s personal information policies and practices including the types of PII TA may collect about you, the purposes for collecting your PII, the circumstances where TA may disclose the information to third parties, the measures TA takes to secure the confidentiality of your PII, and the information you will need to contact TA to address your privacy concerns including the exercise of your rights.

The PII collected in your response depends on the event specifics, but may include your name, email, address, phone number, occupation and login information. When we are providing a gift of clothing or hosting certain activities we may request your size or age. We may also collect media of you including, photographs, video and audio recordings. We collect and process this information for the legitimate interest of organizing this event and/or promoting TA both internally or externally. We may share your PII internally at TA and externally with TA’s affiliates, business partners and third parties for the purposes of facilitating this event and/or promoting TA both internally or externally. Media collected may be shared or used in print and digital media formats including, but not limited to, websites, social media sites, e-marketing, brochures, handouts and other print publications.

We share PII for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, the following ways:
  • Within TA and with our affiliates and subsidiaries for data processing or storage;
  • With business partners and suppliers to provide services and help facilitate this and future related events (e.g. event registrations, data storage, marketing communications and customer support); and/or
  • In response to a request from law enforcement, government authorities (e.g. the US Securities and Exchange Commission), or other third parties as necessary to comply with legal process or meet national security requirements.
TA is committed to protecting PII maintained at TA, from unauthorized access and use. To help protect your personal information, TA implements and maintains appropriate technical, physical and administrative safeguards. Access to your PII is restricted to only those employees or third-parties who need to know that information to provide services to you or to TA or where appropriately promoting the firm. TA employees receive training to maintain the confidentiality, privacy and security of your PII. Such safeguards are not necessarily applicable to PII shared on public forums such as websites and social media.

Your PII will be retained only for as long as the information is needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and processed. Some images or recordings may be kept permanently as an archive of TA’s history and events. Images on websites and social media may be viewed indefinitely and in jurisdictions that are not subject to any data protection laws. TA reserves the right to retain and use your PII for as long as necessary to comply with TA’s legal obligations and business requirements and/or to resolve ongoing disputes and enforce our agreements.

Depending on your residency, you may have certain data subject rights. These rights vary by state and country, but they may include the right to: (i) request additional disclosures about the personal data we collect, use, and disclose, i.e., a “Request to Know (Categories of Information)”; (ii) obtain a copy of personal data, i.e., a “Request to Know (Specific Pieces of Information),” sometimes called the Right to Access; (iii) request deletion of personal data, i.e., a “Request to Delete Information,” sometimes called the Right to Be Forgotten; (iii) opt out of the sale of personal data if TA Associates were to sell personal data, i.e., a “Request to Opt Out.” TA Associates does not sell your information, so you are already opted-out of such sales.

The rights described herein are not absolute and we reserve all of our rights available to us at law in this regard. Additionally, if we retain your personal data only in de-identified form, we will not attempt to re-identify your data in response to a Data Subject Rights request.

The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) prohibits covered businesses from discriminating against you for exercising applicable CCPA rights.

If you make a request related to personal data about you, we will need to verify your identity. To do so, we will request that you match specific pieces of information you have provided us previously, as well as, in some instances, provide a signed declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the individual whose personal information is the subject of the request. If it is necessary to collect additional information from you, we will use the information only for verification purposes and will delete it as soon as practicable after complying with the request. For requests related to particularly sensitive information, we may require additional proof of identification. If you make a request through an authorized agent, we will require written proof that the agent is authorized to act on your behalf. We will process your request within the time provided by applicable law.

The CCPA prohibits covered businesses from discriminating against consumers for exercising their CCPA rights. TA Associates will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights, for example, by charging a different price or denying goods or services. However, TA Associates may charge a different price or rate or provide a different level or quality of goods or services when that difference is reasonably related to the value provided to us by the data.
